it's almost in the mail...

Mary and I have finally completed the playlist for our CD and will probably have it in the mail by the upcoming weekend. We’ll post the set list once Mary has completed the cover art, but I can reveal that two of my guilty aural pleasures — Guided by Voices and Robyn Hitchcock — are represented.

THERE IS NO REASON TO FEEL GUILTY ABOUT GUIDED BY VOICES! IF I HAD IT MY WAY, YOU'D BE MAKING "PAUL & MARY'S BEST OF GUIDED BY VOICES" CD - AND I DON'T MEAN HUMAN AMUSEMENTS AT HOURLY RATES.......

THEY ARE ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE BANDS!

HOT FREAKS!

Oh No...DJ not you too! I need to correct you...it would be: "PAUL'S" Best Of GBV. Please don't encourage him. The nicest thing I can say about GBV's music is: Most of the songs are mercifully short. ;-)

ha! nothing goes better with beer, navigating flood regions or having a raucously good time than GbV!

i flew all the way to chicago for their final show on new year's eve 2004 at the metro......

and between the DVD of that, the later austin city limits DVD and all the records in between, there is no other band that has the drunken sinisterly cynical, but all-aound love of life and music than robert pollard and that band!
and that guy chris on bass is one of my closest friends here in portland......ha!

I'm so jealous to know that you attended The Electrifying Conclusion in person! If it was even half as good as the film then it was truly an event. Sometimes I think Uncle Bob's drunken antics overshadowed the music, but when they're at their best, no one comes close to Guided By Voices.
